As I write this I am faced with the realisation that there is still so much work to do before my store can go live. So many more products to load. My Stock is coming in and I have no place to house it… argghhh what’s a girl gotta do?? Tonight I will work till the wee midnight hours to make sure I get as much more product loaded as possible. I have my husband playing collections oke and fetching all my stock that I have ordered from local suppliers… LOL don’t think he is too keen but knows better than to complain.
Well I do have a day job and that is what I should be doing right now…. WORKING.
Look out for a brief update tomorrow, i’m bound to be complaining about the current govenment strike holding up my CC registration.
Mossel Bay 6 Aug 2010
I’m writing to you sitting on the bed in a room of a Beautiful Boutique Hotel in Mosselbay staring out over the Bay from the room length glass window. The Hubby and I are away for little breakaway weekend while the Kids bunk up and Grandpa and Granny….. Ah Freedom….. Oh I miss my kids. We went out for dinner tonight and as we walked along the promonade I grabbed hubby’s hand saying “We never do this anymore, we never hold each others hands when we walk” so he pipes up and quire rightly so saying, well normally you are pushing a pram and I have the other one on my hip or saving her off the esculator at the Mall. Ok well that’s the circle of life I guess… I beleive it does turn full circle.
Ok so, the plan this weekend is also to spend some time completing work on the website without the interuptions of “Mommy, please wipe my Bum or Mommy, I’m thirsty, can I make myself some tea?” and then having to get up to rescue the Milk bottle from being completely depleted onto the Kitchen floor. Oh I love my kids and I miss them…. This is the first time we have ever been away from our youngest child and only about the second time we have left our Daughter…. I am not a seasoned “weekend away from the kids kinda gal” So I look forward to be able to enjoy some time alone with my better half and also to working a little without interuptions but I look equally as forward to getting back to the little munchkins and squeezing them tight.
Website update: Heres hoping…. I should have the design sent to me fully populated with product on Monday, from then on it’s wait wait wait for the CC to be registered but I beleive that the strike action is only resuming on Tuesday again… oh the Joys! FX for a few people that are willing to work and keep things up to speed.
Tomorrow i’m off to George to meet with Rebecca from Bam+Boo nappies, look forward to the chat and meeting her in person. Great product, Great design, Great price… it’s an all rounder.

Ok, so weekends really go by quickly. Our trip is almost over, leaving this lovely place tomorrow morning and then back to the real world. Today I met with Rebecca from Bam+Boo and was very glad to have done so. I am still quite old fashioned in that way and prefer to meet the people I do business with instead of through cyberspace only which is the trend in this time we are living in. One often never meets the people you work with on a daily basis.
I have finally sorted out my shipping policy on the website and have kept it really basic for now. When we are more established and have a credit card facility then the shipping policy will have to change. I’m excited about seeing the website in it’s totality on tuesday and getting one step further to it’s launch. Now to advertise, advertise, advertise and get the name out there and attract as much traffic to the site as possible.

Back at the Ranch again. Oh what a wonderful break it was. On the Website front, nothing new to report. The CC registration is holding up everything. I could bless the strikers but I wont. We will most likely go live for an initial period without our registered CC number because we can’t wait indefinately for it to happen. Well, I have been MIA for a while and I apologise for this. It’s been a rough week getting things for the web sorted. Still now CC (Don’t know what is going on.) We are going live this week wether it’s ready or not. Just been putting the final content touches on the website and making sure the ordering and invoicing process runs smoothly. Some new exciting products launched this week from Mother Nature Products and so I have been trying to get them all added intime for the launch as well. We started running a Facebook competition to win a BioBaba nappy as well as a lovely competition on the Moomie Blog to win 3 Bam+Boo Nappies. Go check out www.moomie.co.za for this. You will have to register there to be a member though before you can enter the competition. I am wondering why so few people have shown interest in the Facebook competition, It’s a free nappy for goodness sake!! It’s almost time. Worked long hours this past week to get everything tip top for the website to go live on Friday. Now that the Government Strike is over we may have some action on our CC. Look out for www.doodlebums.co.za live on the web on Friday. Oh I hope this works… yikes, i’m all nervous now.
